Education is an essential factor in the ever more urgent global fight against climate change
SIX WAYS TO LOWER YOUR CARBON EMISSION QUICKLY
Tackling climate change on a global level is an immense challenge – but some small, easy actions are accessible to most people. Much of the change needed to curb climate change quickly goes well beyond what any individual can do – from improving renewable energy infrastructure, to a rapid phase-out of fossil fuels. But individual actions can add up too. READ MORE
GO ELECTRIC GUIDE
Everything you need to know to start using your electric bank account
The Inflation Reduction Act is full of incentives to help you and your family go electric. But there’s a lot to explore and understand, from electric appliances you may not even know about yet to the best way to structure your electric journey for maximum savings. Rewiring America’s Go Electric Guide provides everything you need to know to start using the electric bank account full of money you now have to electrify your household.
WATT DIET CALCULATOR
Electrifying the home without upsizing the electric panel
Most people think electrical upgrades are needed if they add electric appliances, but this can be avoided with thoughtful selection of efficient products or by using load sharing devices. Homes have access to a set amount of power through the service wire from a nearby power pole. For example, a service wire may provide 24,000 Watts (100 Amps at 240V). Choosing power efficient appliances can help you avoid upgrading the utility service wire and your circuit breaker panel. See home examples and download your Watt Diet Calculator.

CLIMATE CLOCK
The Climate Clock melds art, science, technology, and grassroots organizing to get the world to #ActInTime.
The project is centered on a simple tool: a clock that counts down the critical time window to reach zero emissions (our “Deadline”), while tracking our progress on key solution pathways (“Lifelines”).
By showing us what we need to do by when, the Clock frames our critical mission — a rapid and just transition to a safe climate future — and puts it at the very forefront of our attention.
Since its famous launch in New York in September 2020, Climate Clock teams have sprung up across the world from Chiapas to Kazakhstan, from Korea to Glasgow.
CLIMATE INSTITUTE
Welcome to Climate 101, a crash course on the causes, effects, and commonly known responses to global warming. We encourage you to read these pages to gain a solid understanding of basic climate issues as we continue to produce publications and news articles relevant to the subject of global warming.
Climate 101 was produced by Climate Institute Editor in Chief, Rudy Baum.
CLIMATE REALITY PROJECT
We know it’s happening, and we know why: carbon pollution from fossil fuels is warming our planet and throwing natural systems out of balance.
You don’t have to look far to see the results. Hotter temperatures, stronger storms, rising seas, and so much more, threatening the health of our families and the future we pass on to generations to come.
But what’s going on and why? Build your understanding of the science behind climate change with The Climate Reality Project’s Climate 101.
CO2.EARTH
CO2.Earth makes it easy for you and other people around the world to track key planetary changes as they happen. Visit CO2.Earth to get the latest readings for atmospheric CO2, global temperature, global emissions, and pH in seawater.
This citizen-launched website saves you and other interested citizens from needing to figure out where on the internet to find source data and information that provides a current and holistic picture of what is happening to the planet we inhabit. It brings it all together in formats that people can use whether they know a little or a lot about global earth system change. The site is a kind of global online learning place where non-specialists can discover and explore some of the best sources of knowledge about our planet.
RISK FACTOR
Risk Factor™ is a free online tool created by the nonprofit First Street Foundation® that makes it easy for Americans to find their property’s risk from environmental threats such as flooding, wildfires, and extreme heat and understand how risks are changing because of a changing environment.
A property’s Flood Factor, Fire Factor, and Heat Factor indicate its comprehensive risk from flooding, wildfire, or extreme heat ranging from 1 (minimal) to 10 (extreme).
